Lugano is a small town located in southern Switzerland, along the edge of Lake Lugano (Lago di Lugano) and bordering northern Italy. It has a population of 60,000, and boasts Switzerland’s third-largest banking centre after Zurich and Geneva respectively. The population is mainly Italian-speaking, likely due to its close proximity to Italy.
