I know, I know, this post is long overdue.

I honestly would not have survived a day in Paris without Rachel. It was truly a blessing she had excellent navigational skills and could speak conversational French, two qualities which I sadly did not possess. We visited all of Paris’ major attractions in a day and even sampled très délicieux eclairs and the Mother of All Lemon Meringue Tarts. We also saw no less than four Asian couples taking their wedding photos at the Seine and at the Eiffel Tower.

Paris is definitely one of those must-visit European cities, but it would be a stretch to say it is the city of love… that’s overrated. My idea of a romantic city isn’t one that makes you constantly worry about your valuables, whether you are just browsing at a shop or having lunch at a cafe.

Still, I had fun, even if it meant travelling nearly 10 hours on foot with only brief 10 – 20-minute breaks for refreshments. My only regret was not having enough time to visit the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre.
