Hello

2015/01/img_00151.jpg

My attempts at maintaining a blog, or a journal of any sort, have been quite feeble, sluggish at best, simply because I lack the discipline to consistently churn out quality writing I will be proud of 10 years from now. No, Tumblr and Dayre don’t count (unless you enjoy reading mindless teenage angst).

Back when I thought of starting this blog, I only meant for it to be a travel blog/photo diary i.e. no whiny posts about how I miss Singapore yada yada. But now that I’ve got my head screwed on right after estimating my monthly budget, I have decided this will be a personal blog about my overseas exchange. (Edit: The Swiss Franc has risen a mighty 15% against the SGD. Sorry, Papa, no more Rolex for you.)

Okay, I have rambled for far too long. Tonight, I will be boarding my flight to Helsinki, where there will be a two-hour stopover before I fly to Milan. Thereafter, I will be taking a bus to Lugano, Switzerland. During my five-month stay, I hope to travel to Paris, Milan and the UK. I don’t know about travelling within Switzerland because everything there is frightfully expensive. Oh, Spain would be a bonus!

Thank you for taking time to read my first official entry and hopefully my life in the next five months will be of interest to you (no matter how vague).

  1. Hi,
I’m also studying in Switzerland in Bulle (Near Gruyere) and I’m from Indonesia. I don’t know if you been to Gruyere, but you really should 🙂

I love your blog cause it seems like similar to my blog 🙂 Asian living in Switzerland. I hope I can visit Lugano before I finish my semester. and yes! CHF has gone up too high, but Switzerland is worth to travel (even with the expensive living cost)
